BACK STORY
"You Can't Iron A Wrinkled Birthday Suit"
When I say 'second edition' I mean with Boutique of Quality Books. My first edition was self-published in 2010. I sold it, in truth, out of the trunk of my car in North Carolina where I lived at the time. At a book fair in Jacksonville I met Terri Leidich, owner of BQB and asked her to read my book. She liked it and, after a change in cover and a thorough edit, she published it in 2011.
Last year, an update of the cover seemed in order which, as it turned out, required a great deal of searching until I ran across the painting of the current cover and tracked down the artist, Des Brophy, who kindly gave me permission to use it.
That being done, another edit seemed in order and, while none of the story has changed, the ending has been improved and I had the chance to re-work some of the 'housekeeping' items that made me say 'ouch' because I have learned more about writing since 2011.
I appreciate the wonderful reception this book has had and all the positive letters and emails I have received over the years. My intent was to smooth the way, make a path through later life, and it seems, for many, I have succeeded.
Again, I am grateful.
